26th - 27th September
This year's Harvest Festival celebrations will, of necessity, be unlike any we have ever known before, and clearly subject to change at short notice!
However, we are determined that we will still give thanks to God for all that he provides for us; show our gratitude for farmers, growers, those who process and deliver our food, and those who work in shops; and remember and help those who are in need.
Here's the current plan:
Saturday 26th Sept 10am - 12 noon
Please bring Harvest Gifts, suitable for the Foodbank, to Church House. If you're not sure what they need, please click here.
We will be advertising this on social media and via our notice boards to encourage the wider community of Shirley to bring donations as well. Please help us to spread the word!
Saturday 26th Sept at 7pm
A Harvest Supper like no other!
Join us on Zoom for a quiz, with a provide-your-own supper at half-time.
The Zoom link will be available via our weekly email, or via the Parish Office .
The original suggestion to invite those who don't have access to Zoom to our homes to join us has obviously had to be set aside.
Sunday 27th Sept from 9:30am
Join us via YouTube for our online Harvest Worship*. (In your own home you can sing as loudly as you like!)
An audio version will also be available on 0121 270 9089 between Sunday and Wednesday 30th.
*The video will be available from 5pm on Saturday 26th.
Sunday 27th Sept 11am
Short, said service of Holy Communion for Harvest Festival in St James' Church.
Sadly, we remain limited to 25 places to allow for appropriate social distancing, and booking is essential. Please phone the Parish Office between 9:30am and 12:15pm on Thursday 24th Sept if you wish to attend.
