Here are the activities we uploaded for Messy Church at Home on December 19th....
Saturday 19th December is Messy Church at Home Day!
It's almost Christmas! And though the way we celebrate Christmas will be very different this year, the reason for celebrating remains the same. Amazingly, the God who created everything (how powerful is that?) was born as Jesus so we can know him and be his friends. Pretty cool, huh?
So this month we are reminding ourselves of the story of how Jesus was born, with shepherds, stars and crowns to make. And of all the other things we now associate with Christmas, like Christmas trees and snow.
Whatever you do - we hope you have fun!
First up, we suggest you read through this page. This gives you the outline of what you will need, and guides you through running your own Messy Church at Home.
Once again, we've tried to keep it simple, so everything can be made using basics like colours, paper and glue, and stuff from your recycling box. See here for the list.
All the activities, with the instructions and any templates you need, are here.......
Before you begin: Find all the resources you need.
10am*: Gather together everyone who is taking part, and say "Welcome to Messy Church" to each other.
10 - 11am: Do your making and activities.
from 11am: If you're not joining us for Zoom tea-and-toast, watch the Celebration on YouTube here (it will be available from 3:15pm on Fri 18th Dec) and then join in with the songs:
(Sorry about the adverts!)
from 11:10am: Make your drinks and toast and log in to Zoom tea-and-toast to share what you have made, and join in with the celebration together.
11:30am: Say "Thank you for coming to Messy Church" and help to tidy up
(*Of course, you can do all, or some, of Messy Church at whatever time suits you. But sadly that probably mean you won't be able to join in Zoom tea-and-toast 😟)
Our next Saturday Messy Church at Home will be on January 16th. We look forward to seeing you then!
