Here are the activities we uploaded for Messy Church at Home on 17th October....
Saturday 17th October is Messy Church at Home Day!
This month we are thinking about "feeling safe".
As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, it's great to be able to turn on the lights, close the curtains and snuggle down safely at home.
So this time we're making some things that might help us to feel safe, whether we're a bit scared of the dark, of water, or of creepy-crawlies. We're dressing up our super-hero teddies. We're thinking about people who help us to feel safe. And we're finding out about how Jesus was a super-super-hero when he and his friends got caught in a storm on a lake.
First up, we suggest you read through this page. This gives you the outline of what you will need, and guides you through running your own Messy Church at Home.
Once again, we've tried to keep it simple, so everything can be made using basics like colours, paper and glue, and stuff from your recycling box. See here for the list.
All the activities, with the instructions and any templates you need, are here.......
Before you begin: Find all the resources you need.
10am*: Gather together everyone who is taking part, and say "Welcome to Messy Church" to each other.
10 - 11am: Do your making and activities.
from 11am: If you're not joining us for Zoom tea-and-toast, watch the Celebration on YouTube here (it will be available from 3:15pm on Fri 16th Oct) and then join in with the songs:
from 11:10am: Make your drinks and toast and log in to Zoom tea-and-toast to share what you have made, and join in with the celebration together.
11:30am: Say "Thank you for coming to Messy Church" and help to tidy up
(*Of course, you can do all, or some, of Messy Church at whatever time suits you. But sadly that probably mean you won't be able to join in Zoom tea-and-toast 😟)
Our next Saturday Messy Church will be on November 21st, either back in Church House or here online. It will be here before we know it......
