Here are the activities we uploaded for Messy Church at Home on November 21st....
Saturday 21st November is Messy Church at Home Day!
This month we are thinking about being prepared, using the story of a shepherd boy called David and a huge great scary soldier named Goliath. Perhaps we should call it "Ready, Steady, Go-liath"!
We're making a Goliath face and a "get ready" pebble; along with some figures of David and Goliath which we will use to help to tell the story during our celebration time. You can have a go at a "ready, steady, go" traffic light - or join in the "ready, steady, go" challenges which Sarah and Bernard have set. Perhaps you can send us some photos or join us for Zoom tea and toast at 11am to tell us how you got on.
Whatever you do - we hope you have fun!
First up, we suggest you read through this page. This gives you the outline of what you will need, and guides you through running your own Messy Church at Home.
Once again, we've tried to keep it simple, so everything can be made using basics like colours, paper and glue, and stuff from your recycling box. See here for the list.
All the activities, with the instructions and any templates you need, are here.......
Be ready pebble
Ready, Steady, Go challenge
Before you begin: Find all the resources you need.
10am*: Gather together everyone who is taking part, and say "Welcome to Messy Church" to each other.
10 - 11am: Do your making and activities.
from 11am: If you're not joining us for Zoom tea-and-toast, watch the Celebration on YouTube here (it will be available from 3:15pm on Fri 20th Nov) and then join in with the songs:
from 11:10am: Make your drinks and toast and log in to Zoom tea-and-toast to share what you have made, and join in with the celebration together.
11:30am: Say "Thank you for coming to Messy Church" and help to tidy up
(*Of course, you can do all, or some, of Messy Church at whatever time suits you. But sadly that probably mean you won't be able to join in Zoom tea-and-toast 😟)
Our next Saturday Messy Church will be on December 19th. I wonder what the theme will be???
