We Are Shirley Parish-2.png

Welcome.... and thank you for visiting the Shirley Parish website.

On this website you will find lots of information about who we are and what we do. Please explore - and get in touch - we would love to hear from you!

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). You can find more information on Parish Safeguarding, including contact details for our PSO here.
Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.

News and Updates

General Election 2024 - some suggestions....

Pick up and use a Pray Your Part booklet, available in our churches. There's a

non-political Bible reading and reflection on a range of election issues for each day from now until July 4th, providing some ideas to ponder on.

The readings and reflections can also be accessed via a daily email by registering here.

Shirley Churches Together are arranging a hustings event - an opportunity to question the candidates standing in the Solihull West and Shirley constituency. This will be on Wednesday 26th June at 7:30pm at Shirley Methodist Church. It is for voters in the constituency ONLY, so you must bring your polling card to gain admission.

Questions to be submitted in advance to No questions will be accepted on the night.

And finally - make sure you have acceptable Voter ID  - and don't forget to take it when you go to vote!

A prayer for the planet

God of justice and compassion,
we cry to you for the future of planet Earth.
We repent with tears
for our failure to manage its resources fairly
and for our short-sighted greed and selfishness.
Stir up in us and our leaders at this time,
a new determination to act
for the good of the poorest among us,
and for the blessing of all creation.

Martyn Payne

Be Still..... and pray

May the Love of Christ surround us

The Light of Christ lead us

The Peace of Christ fill us

The Power of Christ aid us

The Joy of Christ thrill us

The Presence of Christ

Be with us evermore.
